Diagnostics MX Lookup Tool

Description of the control

Use this tool to query the MX record for the domain entered in Domain to Query. It is a simple diagnostics utility that returns whatever MX record is published for that domain.

Procedure

  1. Open Posture Management.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Locate the Diagnostics MX Lookup Tool card.
  4. In Domain to Query, enter the domain you want to check.
  5. Run the lookup using the MX query action on the card.
  6. Review the returned result for the domain you entered.

Validation

Confirm that the tool returns the current MX record value for the domain entered in Domain to Query. If the domain has multiple MX records, confirm that the returned result reflects the MX data published for that domain.
